What to Bring to Registration
The student must supply the following to Academy School of Driving, so we can obtain the permit prior to instruction:
- Original State issued Birth Certificate, or U.S. Passport
- Social security card
- $10 (the MVC charges $10 for the permit - cash or check to NJMVC)
- If the student has passed the exam in school: bring the "blue card" or "score card". This is a card issued by the high school, which states that the student has passed the test.
- Payment for the 6 Hours
After finishing the 6 hour program, the permit is brought back to the DMV (MVC) to validate it, and to assign the student a road test date. YES, your Road Test for your License will be scheduled by Academy. No trips to the DMV for you. When you are ready to take your Road Test, we offer a Road Test Service which provides you with transportation to your road test in the vehicle in which you had been given lessons.
*If you have not yet taken/passed the written test, we can administer the test at our office to anyone who will be registering for 6 Hours Behind the Wheel. Call to schedule an appointment.
